This gentle anthem owes its appeal to Howard Helvey’s use of instrumental trio (BP1638A), piano and handbells (BP1638B) and his ability to make simple SAB voice writing sound full and out-of-the-ordinary.  There is also a surprising fit between Martin Luther’s well-known words and the more obscure hymn tune, LOUVAN.
